The Wildcats had the top finisher in every event and was led once again by senior all-arounder Amanda Hall (Bremerton, Wash.), this week's EAGL Gymnast of the Week. Hall posted a first-place all-around score of 38.775, followed in second place by senior Mariana Pena Trestini (Valencia, Venezuela), who attemped the all-around for the first time this season.
In the vault it was Hall leading the way with a first-place judgement of 9.925, which was good for a season-high and just shy of her personal best of 9.95. Also recording a personal-best in vault was freshman Justine Turner (Salem, N.H.), who recorded a second-place score of 9.850. UNH had the top four finishers in the event.
On bars, UNH had the top six finishers and was led by Pena Trestini, who posted a 9.875 and by Hall with a 9.825.
The Wildcats struggled on balance beam but was led by junior Jennifer Jones (Billerica, Mass.), as she stuck her routine to finish with a first-place score of 9.575.
The floor exercise went well for the 'Cats as they posted the top five scores. Leading the was Pena Trestini with a mark of 9.9, followed by Hall with a 9.875 and by Turner with a 9.85.
Up next for the Wildcats is a trip to North Carolina State for a meet with the Wolfpack and the University of Maryland, both EAGL conference foes. The meet will take place on Fri., March 17 and will start at 7 p.m.
