HANOVER, N.H. -- Senior captain Katie White (Glens Falls, N.Y.) scored two goals and junior MacKenzie Stuart (Washington Depot, Conn.) recorded a career-high three assists to propel the University of New Hampshire field hockey team to Sunday afternoon's 4-1 non-conference victory against intrastate rival Dartmouth College at Sculley-Fahey Field.

UNH improved to 4-8 with the victory while Dartmouth fell to 4-5.

The Wildcats quickly took a 1-0 lead at 4:25 when Shauna Sellenger (Londonderry, N.H.), with Stuart's assistance, scored on a penalty corner. Emily Colton (Milton, Mass.) increased the advantage to 2-0 with a goal at 10:15 that was once again set up by Stuart.

Dartmouth, which recorded a 17-9 shot advantage and a 9-3 edge in penalty corners, pulled within 2-1 on a penalty-corner goal by Whitney Waugh at 12:30.

The 'Cats took that one-goal advantage into halftime and White scored a pair of second-half goals for her eighth career multiple-goal game. Her unassisted tally at 46:17 extended UNH's lead to 3-1 and White closed the scoring at 53:46 when she scored on a penalty corner with the assistance of Stuart.

UNH goalkeeper Margaux Shute (Norridgewock, Maine) recorded seven saves while DC counterpart Lauren Balukjian stopped one shot.

"Coming out and playing hard right from the start after (Saturday's) loss at Boston University shows the character of this team," UNH head coach Robin Balducci said. "This is what we're capable of. I was pleased with our performance and the ability to put the game away."

New Hampshire returns to action Oct. 8 (1 p.m.) for an America East matchup at Albany. The next Wildcat home game is Oct. 14 vs. Maine. Game time at Memorial Field is 3 p.m.
