DURHAM, N.H. – Wildcat Sports Properties (WSP), a property of Learfield Sports, announced Wednesday that the voice of the Wildcats Bob Lipman will be joined by Concord Monitor sports reporter Tim O'Sullivan as the University of New Hampshire football radio broadcast team on the Wildcat Sports Radio Network in 2014.
Lipman, a four-time and reigning New Hampshire Sportscaster of the Year, enters his fourth year on the UNH broadcast team and third season as the play-by-play announcer. Lipman is wrapping up his 11th season as the radio voice of the New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A baseball affiliate of the Toronto blue Jays, and he is the former voice of Dartmouth College football. The Vanderbilt University graduate is the operations manager at WTPL Radio in Concord.
O'Sullivan, who joins the network as color commentator, has covered the Wildcats as a Monitor staff writer since 2003. His multiple national, regional and state writing awards include first-place recognition from the New England Newspaper & Press Association (NENPA) for sports feature in 2006, '07, and '11 and first place from the New Hampshire Press Association in sports news for a daily paper ('08, '10, '11).
"It's a big year for UNH Football and we're thrilled to have Bob Lipman once again running play-by-play on the Wildcat Sports Radio Network," WSP general manager Justin Barnes said. "We're also excited to welcome Tim O'Sullivan as our new color analyst and look forward to what he'll add to our broadcasts."
The UNH Coach's Show, featuring head football coach Sean McDonnell, returns to the airwaves Monday, Sept. 1 (7-8 p.m.), live from Buffalo Wild Wings at the Fox Run Mall in Newington, N.H. Fans are encouraged to join coach McDonnell, host Mike Murphy and members of the Wildcat football team live on location or listen to the broadcast on the stations along the network. The show will run each Monday night during the season.
The Wildcat Sports Radio Network consists of News Radio 610 (WGIR-AM, Manchester), News Radio 96.7 (WQSO-FM, Portsmouth) and Fox Sports Radio 930 (WPKX-AM, Rochester). All broadcasts are streamed live and archived via Stretch Internet at www.unhwildcats.com. Game broadcasts begin 30 minutes prior to kickoff.
No. 4 UNH opens its season at Toledo on Saturday, Aug. 30, at 7 p.m. The pregame show from the Glass Bowl begins at 6:30 p.m. on the Wildcat Sports Radio Network, and the game will be televised live on ESPN3.
