DURHAM, N.H. – Athletic Director Marty Scarano, has announced changes to the athletics staff
at the University of New Hampshire. The restructuring includes several promotions, as well as a redistribution of responsibilities throughout the department, which are all effective immediately.
Steve Metcalf has assumed the role of Deputy Athletic Director. After serving the past three years as Senior Associate Athletic Director of Internal Operations, Metcalf will continue to oversee all internal operations, as well as the women’s ice hockey, men’s soccer, field hockey, women’s lacrosse, men’s and women’s skiing, men’s and women’s cross country and men’s and women’s indoor and outdoor track & field programs, and the areas of strength & conditioning and sports medicine. Additional duties for Metcalf, who is in his 14th year at UNH, will include an expanded role as Scarano’s designate for all league affiliations and NCAA Championships, as well as in the daily operation of the department.
Amber Radzevich has been promoted to Associate Athletic Director for Marketing & Communications. Radzevich, who begins her seventh year at UNH, is directly responsible for marketing, promotions and corporate sponsorship fulfillment for all of UNH’s ticketed sports (men's and women's hockey, football, men's and women's basketball, women's volleyball, and women's gymnastics). Additional duties will include special event logistics and game day presentation management. She will also help with managing special projects and community outreach initiatives, as well as coordinating with university communications.
Carrie Kimball has been elevated to Associate Athletic Director for Events Management. Kimball, who is in her ninth year at UNH, is responsible for the management and administration of athletic contests. Other duties include coordination of facilities, championship administration, season and practice scheduling, facility rentals and the administration and oversight of summer camps.
Tom Wilkins has been promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Media & Public Relations. In the fourth year of his second stint with the Wildcats, Wilkins serves as the liaison for both the men’s hockey and women’s volleyball teams. In his new role, Wilkins will be charged with overseeing the entirety of athletic public relations as part of the University’s public relations initiative, through feature stories, videos, social networking sites and other outreach projects. Wilkins will also develop and design a comprehensive video production program that will include the aforementioned video features, as well as video highlights, video replay and video streaming.
Cathy Leach has been promoted to Assistant Athletic Director for Academic Support and Compliance. Leach begins her ninth season working in Academic Support and also serves as an assistant in the compliance department, taking part in the day-to-day operations, meeting NCAA compliance and certification.
Shawn Green has been hired as the assistant in Academic Support/Compliance. He joins the Wildcats after serving as the head coach for the men’s and women’s cross country/track & field teams for nine years at Quinnipiac University, and most recently was the men’s cross country/track & field coach at Southern Connecticut State University for one season. Green, a 1996 graduate of UNH, is a former Wildcat track & field captain. He will split his time in the academic support and compliance departments.
