Skiing Takes Top Spot in UNH Alumni Challenge

DURHAM, N.H. -- With the fiscal year ending on June 30, 2013, the first official UNH Athletic Alumni Challenge has come to an end.  The Department of Athletics would like to thank all athletic alumni who participated in helping their program compete for the highest participation rate of giving to any area within The Wildcat Fund (includes all Friends groups, athletic scholarships and athletic director’s priorities).

The winner of the first annual Athletic Alumni Challenge is skiing, with 44 percent of ski alumni making an annual gift, followed by volleyball (26%) and swimming and diving (23%).  The Friends groups for each of these programs will receive bonus rewards of $2,500, $1,500 and $1,000 respectively.

Gifts of any size counted in this competition and we are grateful to all those individuals who made a gift.  Overall, 20 percent of our athletic alumni made a gift this past fiscal year as part of the challenge. Congratulations to the skiing program and to all our teams on a great competition. Please see the final chart for complete results.
