INTERACTIVE WEBSITE & SOCIAL MEDIA OUTLETS KEEP FANS IN TOUCH WITH WILDCATS
DURHAM, N.H. --
The UNH athletics department is pleased to announce the multiple
free opportunities fans have to follow the Wildcats closer than
ever during the 2010-11 sports season, highlighted by the easily
accessible UNHWildcats.com and through such social media outlets as
Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Here is a breakdown of the
assortment of avenues to track the ‘Cats on a daily
basis:
Live Audio Streaming and Podcasts: Fans can tune in to live
play-by-play coverage of every UNH football and men’s hockey
game, home and away, during the season on the Wildcats Sports
Network on UNHWildcats.com, as well as the weekly Monday night UNH
Coach’s Show, featuring football coach Sean McDonnell in the
fall and men’s hockey coach Dick Umile in the winter. Audio
streaming, powered by Stretch Internet, for most home men’s
and women’s basketball games, and select women’s hockey
games, will also be available free of charge. Each live, streamed
broadcast will then be archived and made available for future
enjoyment on a Mac, PC or downloadable mp3 device.
Live Stats: Get real-time statistics
during all home football, field hockey, lacrosse, men and
women’s soccer, men and women’s basketball, men and
women’s hockey, gymnastics and volleyball contests at
UNHWildcats.com.
RSS
Feeds: Really Simple Syndication (RSS) collects new
content from the websites most frequented by fans, distributing it
directly to their desktops, browsers or email accounts. With each
new update to UNHWildcats.com, the corresponding information will
immediately be published to UNH’s RSS feeds, keeping
subscribers connected 24 hours a day.
E-Scores, Text Alerts and
E-Newsletter: By signing up at
UNHWildcats.com, fans have the ability to receive scores from the
latest Wildcats’ action sent directly to their email accounts
and cell phones. Plus, the e-newsletter contains the latest
schedules, promotions and other pertinent information every
‘Cats fan needs to know. Fans have the option of
signing up for the e-newsletter by individual sport or for all
sport releases.
Mobile Optimized
Website: Enjoy improved website viewing on your mobile
device. Through PrestoSports, the UNH athletics website is now
streamlined for mobile viewing on your iPhone, Droid, Blackberry
and other mobile devices.
iPhone
Application: Coming later this summer will be the UNH
athletics iPhone Application. This completely free app can be
downloaded from the iTunes store. The application will allow fans
to get up-to-the-minute scores, team information, live audio and
much more.
Facebook: Interact with the
ever-growing number of Wildcats’ fans who follow UNH
athletics on the world’s largest social network at
