247 STUDENT-ATHLETES NAMED TO AMERICA EAST ACADEMIC HONOR ROLL
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The America East conference announced Wednesday that 247 University of New Hampshire student-athletes have been named to the America East Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll. Furthermore, 139 of those Wildcats received distinction on the Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
A total of 1,718 student-athletes
were named to the Academic Honor Roll for recording a grade point
average of 3.0 or higher; 856 finished with a 3.5 GPA or higher to
earn Commissioner’s Honor Roll status.
UNH had the second highest total of representatives on both the
Academic Honor Roll and Commissioner’s Honor Roll. The
women’s outdoor track & field team had 67
student-athletes named to the Academic Honor Roll, which marked the
highest total for all winter and spring sports; that team also had
a league-high 49 representatives on the Commissioner’s Honor
Roll.
The women’s indoor track & field team also recorded
league bests on both the Academic and Commissioner’s Honor
Roll with 65 and 48, respectively. The men’s outdoor track
and field team had 37 representatives on the Academic Honor Roll
and 12 on the Commissioner’s Honor Roll to rank first among
all men’s teams in the conference.
America East is proud to have one
of most comprehensive academic awards programs in the country. In
addition to the honor roll, an All-Academic team comprised of
student-athletes that excel both academically and athletically is
chosen in each of the conference’s 21 sports by a committee
consisting of faculty athletic representatives, academic advisors
and sports information directors.
