2009 Schedule
DURHAM, N.H. – Jill Hirschinger, head coach of the University of New Hampshire volleyball team, has announced the schedule for the upcoming 2009 season.

The Wildcats open their 2009 campaign on Friday, Aug. 28 at the Syracuse Tournament. UNH will play the host Orange as well as Siena and Sacramento State during the opening weekend of competition in Syracuse.

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women’s volleyball team played host to another successful “Volley 4 Holly” event on Tuesday, May 12. The fifth-annual “Volley 4 Holly” tournament raised over $1,800 for the Holly Young Fund, while a tournament-record 30 teams competed including representatives from all 20-varsity programs in the athletic department.
 
The event was created to raise money for Wildcat volleyball player Holly Young, who passed away on Jan. 24, 2008 after a courageous three-year battle with Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer. The funds raised at the event will go to a scholarship setup in Young’s name at Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School, the Jimmy Fund and cancer research.

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women’s volleyball team has announced that the team will hold the fifth-annual “Volley 4 Holly” tournament on Tuesday, May 12 in Lundholm Gymnasium from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

DURHAM, N.H. -- University of New Hampshire volleyball team completed its spring schedule as it went 6-2 in round-robin play at the UNH Spring Tournament held at Lundholm Gymnasium on Saturday, April 25.

DURHAM, N.H. – Junior outside hitter Kirsten Bates (Calgary, Alberta) of the University of New Hampshire volleyball team was named the Holly Young Most Valuable Player at the 2008 team awards banquet at Whittemore Center on the UNH campus on Saturday night.

DURHAM, N.H. — The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team has a full slate of activities planned for Saturday, April 25. The day will include a spring tournament and annual end-of-year banquet.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — University of New Hampshire volleyball team competed in a round-robin tournament at Harvard University. The Wildcats went 6-2 on the day in round-robin match play.

DURHAM, N.H. – Head Coach Jill Hirschinger of the University of New Hampshire volleyball team has announced the class of 2009. Jansan Falcusan (Plymouth, Mich.) and Jessie Schnepp (East Longmeadow, Mass.) have both committed to UNH and will join the Wildcats in the fall.

CHESTNUT HILL, Mass. — University of New Hampshire volleyball team competed in a round-robin tournament at Boston College. The Wildcats played matches against the host Eagles as well as Northeastern and UConn.
   Freshman Amy Keding (Northbrook, Ill.) led the way with 19 kills, while America East All-Rookie team selection Pauline Acres (Manhattan Beach, Calif.) contributed 18 kills with a .243 hitting percentage. Senior Lindsay Fogarty (Pleasanton, Calif.) added 15 kills, six blocks and three service aces. Kate Uitti (Pinckney, Mich.) paced the offensive attack guiding a team hitting percentage of .180. Kelly Harte (East Rochester, N.H.) led the defensive end with 18 digs.

In their non-traditional season, the Wildcats will compete in two tournaments on the road at Boston College and Harvard and will play host to some of New England’s elite programs for in their annual spring tournament on April 25 at Lundholm Gymnasium.
