CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The America East conference announced Thursday that 204 University of New Hampshire student-athletes have been named to the America East Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll. Furthermore, 97 of those Wildcats received distinction on the Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
    UNH had the third highest total of representatives on both the Academic Honor Roll and Commissioner’s Honor Roll. The women’s outdoor track and field team had 55 student-athletes named to the Academic Honor Roll, which marked the highest total for all winter and spring sports; that team also had a league-high 28 representatives on the Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

DURHAM, N.H.- University of New Hampshire swimming & diving head coach Josh Willman has announced the hiring of Tory McKenna as diving coach. Last season, McKenna was the graduate assistant coach while she completed her final year of eligibility for the Wildcats. At the 2009 America East Championships, she placed third in the 1-meter dive.
“We are extremely excited to bring Tory on board to head up our diving program,” coach Willman said. “Tory has a lot of new ideas and changes that she is planning to implement to further integrate the divers into the swimming program overall and strengthen their contribution to the entire team’s efforts,” Willman added. “We think that she will be just the person our staff needs to raise the level of the UNH divers.”

DURHAM, N.H.- The University of New Hampshire women’s swimming and diving team recently held their annual awards banquet at the Sheraton Inn in Portsmouth. The evening highlighted the team’s accomplishments over the 2008-2009 season.
Although finishing fourth at the America East Championships, the Wildcats won 8-of-18 swimming events, more than any other school. During the Championships, they broke five conference records and six school records.

    DURHAM, N.H.
- The University of New Hampshire women’s swimming and diving team earned fourth place at the America East Swimming and Diving Championships held at Boston University this past weekend. 
Freshman Jessica Little (Barrie, Ontario), who was named the Most Outstanding Rookie at the end of the year awards, garnered America East Rookie of the Meet at the Championships.  Little totaled the most points of any freshman women at the meet as the Wildcats took home the Rookie of the Meet honor for the second consecutive year.

CAMBRIDGE, MASS. ­– Jessica Little (Barrie, Ontario), a freshman on the University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team, was selected as the America East Female Swimmer of the Week as announced by the conference Tuesday afternoon.
    During this past week of action, Little earned four individual first-place finishes and swam the breaststroke leg of the Wildcats’ top-place finishing 400-yard medley relay against Dartmouth.

    DURHAM, N.H.
– The University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team placed first in 12 of 16 events to earn a 180-115 victory over the University of Maine on Friday evening at Swasey Pool.
    To begin the day, the Wildcats earned first and second in the 200-yard medley relay with times of 1:50.29 and 1:54.42, respectively. After the Black Bears placed first in the 1000-yard freestyle, the Wildcats broke away with nine consecutive first-place finishes.

    DURHAM, N.H.
– Despite eight first place finishes, the University of New Hampshire women’s swimming and diving team fell to Dartmouth College, 129.5-112.5, on Wednesday evening at Swasey Pool.
    The squads’ 400-yard medley relay team got the Wildcats out to a hot start as they touched in at 4:00.23, more than three seconds ahead of Dartmouth. Though Dartmouth earned the next two top finishes, the Wildcats countered with back-to-back first-place times to garner a seven point advantage (50-43) after five events.

    BOSTON –
The University of New Hampshire swimming fell to Boston University 192-107 and host-school Northeastern 171-128 in a tri-meet on Saturday afternoon.|
    The Wildcats opened up the day with a first place finish in the 200-yard medley relay, just beating out its second place opponent by .14 seconds. Amy Perrault (Kirkland Lake, Ontario), who led off the relay team, also earned a top finish in the 100-yard backstroke, timing in at 58.53.

BURLINGTON, VT.
- Jessica Little (Barrie, Ontario) and Jessie Ellisalcaide (Harpswell, Maine) both earned two top-place finishes, but it was not enough as the University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team fell to Vermont, 174-118, on Saturday afternoon at Forbush Natatorium.
    Little broke a pool record in the 100-yard breaststroke with a first-place time of 1:06.47. She followed that performance with top-finish in the 200-yard breast, just missing another pool record with a time of 2:23.88. Little also earned a second-place finish in the 200-yard individual medley, timing in at 2:12.48.
