DURHAM, N.H.- The University of New Hampshire women’s basketball program will host its second Annual Golf Tournament on Monday, Sept. 21 at The Oaks Golf Links in Somersworth, N.H.
This golf tournament is a key fundraising event which helps offset the significant cost of team travel, recruiting expenses, locker room updates and other expenses, such as the annual team banquet and senior night.

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The America East conference announced Thursday that 204 University of New Hampshire student-athletes have been named to the America East Winter/Spring Academic Honor Roll. Furthermore, 97 of those Wildcats received distinction on the Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
UNH had the third highest total of representatives on both the Academic Honor Roll and Commissioner’s Honor Roll. The women’s outdoor track and field team had 55 student-athletes named to the Academic Honor Roll, which marked the highest total for all winter and spring sports; that team also had a league-high 28 representatives on the Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women's basketball program recently announced a change in dates for 2009 summer camps. The Day Camp will now run from June 29-July 2 and the Kristin Cole Skills Camp will take place June 29 and 30.

WEST HARTFORD, CONN. – The University of New Hampshire women’s basketball team were led by Candace Williams (Norfolk, Mass.) with 18 points, but it was not enough as the Wildcats fell to the University of Vermont, 57-45, in America East quarterfinal action Friday evening at Hartford’s Chase Arena.
The Wildcats conclude the 2009 season with a record of 8-23, 6-10 in the America East. The Catamounts, with a record of 19-11, 12-4 in the conference, will face Hartford in semifinal action.

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – Candace Williams (Norfolk, Mass.), a junior forward for the University of New Hampshire women’s basketball team, was selected to the America East All-Conference Second Team for her impressive performances this season for the Wildcats, as announced by the conference Thursday morning at its annual awards banquet held at the Basketball Hall of Fame.
With the honor, Williams becomes the tenth player in UNH history to be named to the second team and the first to do so since 2006-07, when Danielle Clark was selected to the second team for the second time in her career.

DURHAM, N.H.- The sixth-seeded University of New Hampshire women's basketball will take on No. 3 Vermont on Friday, March 13 in quarterfinal action of the America East Championships. The Wildcats and Catamounts will tip-off at aproximately 8 p.m. at the University of Hartford's Chase Arena. For the third straight season the Wildcats have finished with the same conference record as another Aamerica East team and have been granted a seed based on tiebreaker criteria. New Hampshire and UMBC finished with the same conference record (6-10), but the Rretrievers were awarded the No. 5 seed by winning the second tiebreaker (winning percentage against other conference teams in descending rank order) with a win against Binghamton (Jan. 24).

WEST HARTFORD, CONN. – Candace Williams (Norfolk, Mass.) led the University of New Hampshire women’s basketball team with 15 points, but it was not enough as the Wildcats fell to the University of Hartford, 57-37, on Saturday afternoon as Chase Arena.
With the loss the Wildcats conclude the regular season with a record of 8-22, including 6-10 in the America East, while the Hawks improved to 19-10, 14-2 in the conference. The Wildcats will be seeded sixth at the America East tournament and will face No. 3 Vermont at the 2009 America East Women’s Basketball Championships.
Williams, who was selected as the America East Player of the Game for the Wildcats, also pulled down a team-high eight rebounds in the game. Lauren Wells (West Chester, Pa.) and Amy Simpson (Waterford, Conn.) chipped in with nine and six points, respectively, for the Wildcats.

With the loss the Wildcats fall to 8-21, including 6-9 in the America East, while the Bearcats improve to 13-15, 8-7 in the conference.
Williams, the America East Player of the Game for the Wildcats, also pulled down a team-high seven rebounds. Abigail LaRosa (Hampton, N.H.) finished with 10 points, while Amy Simpson (Waterford, Conn.) dished out 11 assists to tie her career high.
