Douglas Poole, a 1993 graduate of UNH with a B.S. in Sports Communication, joined the athletic media relations staff in May 1997. He was hired as Assistant Director of Athletic Media Relations in October 2000 and subsequently promoted to Associate Director of Athletic Media Relations in summer 2005.

In his tenure, Poole has served as the primary liaison for women’s basketball (1998 and 2000 seasons), field hockey (1997-98, 2000-06), women’s ice hockey (1999, 2001-07), women’s lacrosse (1998-2007), men’s and women’s skiing (1998-2007) and women’s soccer (1997-98, 2000-05).

Poole’s other duties include supervisor of the student staff and assisting with UNH’s other varsity sports.

Prior to joining the UNH athletic media relations staff, Poole was a sportswriter at two local newspapers. He served as a correspondent for Foster’s Daily Democrat  (Dover, N.H.) from 1997-98 and held an interim staff position at Portsmouth Herald (Portsmouth, N.H.) from 1996-97. Poole also was a correspondent at Portsmouth Herald from 1993-96.
